Research and Projects: received Meet The Composer grant in 2004 as part of multimedia project whatWALL, organized by saxophonist Brian Sacawa, University of Michigan; doctoral dissertation composition completed in 2004, “Mandala of the Four Directions: a ritual cantata for 4 singers and 4 ensembles”; received John Knowles Paine Traveling Fellowship (HU) in 2001 and 2002 to pursue documentary-performance project on human relationship to water in different regions across the United States, culminating in a piece for live instruments with water-related sounds and video; soundtrack for High Lonesome, a film by Andrew Hulse (2001)

Arts and Community: regular performances as a member of the Jah Jah Drummers, an Afro-Caribbean drumming group, involved with the promotion of traditional arts and culture in the Caribbean community of the Boston area and working with other groups in the community to organize events such as the first monthly Black History Celebration in Dorchester, MA
